The First Computer

Touch screens... LED displays.... easy to transport not back then. Today we live in a world where basically everyone owns a laptop. Whether it is a Mac or Dell or HP our laptops have so many new modern features. But it wasn't always like this, laptops were not always as widely available or even used in school for a long time.

The first personal computer the Kenbak-1 was designed by John Blankenbaker in 1970. It was designed when he came into a little extra money and he thought it was time that people had a small computer that anyone could afford. His goal with this design was to help students and be used for educational purposes. Blankenbaker now regrets that decision because it took way to long for him to get all the patents for the school programs. This computer went on the market in 1971. It was first sold for $750. It only sold a maximum of 50 units in the three years it was for sale.
